Our Merlin’s Market British Bacon is special, and not just because we work with a local, award-winning butcher who’s been inducted into the Cured Meats Hall of Fame. Unlike American bacon that’s made from pork belly, British bacon is made from the back of the big—or the pork loin, so it’s not fatty at all. Some of our clients say its flavor is similar to that of a very thin pork chop.

Heating, eating & storing your British bacon
Lightly spray your favorite skillet with a bit of oil, and then heat your British bacon for about 4 minutes on each side. That’s it! You can also heat your bacon in a 375-degree oven for approximately 15 minutes, placing the bacon on a sheet pan with a rack.
Eat at least one slice immediately (because it’s delicious and the best British bacon you can get here in America). You might also try it with a bacon sandwich on high-quality, crusty bread with butter and, of course, HP Sauce. It’s also great as an addition to mac and cheese. We recommend eating your bacon immediately once cooked or within 24 hours.
Your British bacon will be shipped raw, and it can be refrigerated for up to 5 days prior to cooking or stored in the freezer for up to 6 months when properly wrapped.

We take exceptional care to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition—shipping our perishable products on Mondays and Tuesdays to avoid holds en route and using dry ice and insulated liners handmade right here in the US.
As our perishable products ship at a flat rate, you’ll find it’s most cost-effective to fill your box. For example, 2-4 pasties and 4-6 pies. Don’t forget to include a sauce, dressing, or seasoning!
